The Motor Rail \u0026amp; Tramcar company won an order for several hundred of its 'Simplex' tractors. These machines where used on the War Department Light Railways, in close proximity to the front lines (where steam power would be more easily spotted by the enemy).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter the war, many of these machines saw continued use in industry, particular where very light rail was used. The first train of the Ffestiniog Railway preservation era was hauled by such a machinie, and several have survived into preservation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThis model is of the 'Armoured' variant. Featuring full armour to the lower body (surrounding the main tractor components) and roof, with end and side slits for the driver to look through.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe body is a highly-detailed single piece. Given the lack of visibility through the visors, there is no interior detailing. The kit includes a static chassis for creating dioramas, such as in a siding, or possibly as a load being delivered from the factory.
