Our first ready-to-run wagon is inspired by the 4-ton open wagons built by the Great Western Railway for the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway. These include metal wheels and NEM coupling pockets. As with all our models, there is an exceptional level of detail, with full underframe detail recreated on the model. These large vehicles make the perfect companion to locomotives based on 2' 6" gauge prototypes, such as Joan, the Bowaters Matary, and the Sierra Leone Hunslet No.85.

The Campbetown and Macrihanish Railway was home to 18 hutch transporter wagons. These 2'3" gauge flat vehicles were designed to accommodate up to 4 colliery hutch wagons (capable of carrying 9.5 cwt each), positioned transversely across the top. The transporter wagon measured over 10 feet long and would have weighed around half a ton when loaded with four full hutch wagons.
The model has four individually moulded hutch wagons that can be separated from the top to make interesting running formations, although they would probably have been more likely to be fully loaded.
