In the 1950s, the 750mm gauge railways in Saxony (then in East Germany) faced a motive power shortage. To replace the aging 0-4-4-0T Meyer tanks a new Ersatzdampflok 2-8-2T was proposed, but never left the drawing board. This model is an exclusive and very limited edition of what could have been manufactured by LKM for the Duetsche Reichsbahn.

This commission model is a strict limit edition. Only 10 models have been made. The models have been produced using original drawings from the Ersatzdampflok and for similar locomotives (such as the VIK, Einheits and Neubau). Each model is unique, carrying the numbers 99801 to 99810, with random shed allocations and overhaul dates.
These H0e scale models feature a highly detailed body that includes many fine separately fitted details, representation of the cab interior and boiler backhead, and flush glazed windows. Also included are BEMO couplings. The power is provided by a smooth and reliable Fleischmann chassis, with custom motion and cylinders crafted onto the mechanism. This can be removed for ease of maintenance.
