A new chassis for a new range of products...
We are pleased to reveal we have been able to source a brand new chassis for use in the kits that will are unveiling this week. The FD01 chassis has been specially made for us by Toma Model Works and features a 15.2mm wheelbase, 7.6mm wheels and is powered by the same slow geared mechanism used on their other popular mechanisms.
The chassis has similar overall dimensions and featurese to the Bachmann Percy, but rather than just reworking our existing kits to fit this, we've decided to create something new. Also, since we have worked with Toma closely on this, we have been able to make use of original CAD to take the detailing to the same level as our recent kits for the Rapido chassis.
Unfortunately, Toma are only able to make these mechanisms in low batch runs, so in the first instance these will only be available with our launch kits in new Kit + Chassis releases. We already have a second batch on order, due for delivery sometime around the new year, and we hope to make some of these chassis available separately. The price of the individual chassis would be £109.99, but these will be in low numbers, and we ask you to contact us if you are interested in reserving one.
