'Bacillus' and 'Kanaka' join the Sirdar Chassis fleet
Following on from our update last week, the first batches of our newly improved 'Bacillus' and 'Kanaka' models are now ready to order. These models were originally designed to fit the Bachmann Quarry Hunslet chassis, but have been adapted to fit the Rapido Trains Sirdar mechanism. Detail improvements include optimisation for our new HD resin, and the cab interiors are now completely separate for ease of painting (rather than just the boiler backhead).
Whilst a new batch of Quarry Hunslet chassis is due in the new year, there is a significant price difference between the two products, and we hope you agree it is a logical step to convert these kits to fit the cheaper chassis. If anyone would still prefer the model to fit a Quarry Hunslet, we still have the CAD and print files, but they will be made to order.
The two tender Hudswell-Clarkes 'Furbero' and 'Lautoka' have also been converted, and are currently in production. We hope these will be available later next week.
