Baldwin Locomotive Works - Fairymead
G'day mates, let us introduce 0-4-2T locomotive 'Fairymead'. In 1889 Baldwin Locomotive Works produced three similar such machines for the Fairymead Sugar Mill in Australia, the namesake member of this fleet has survived into preservation.
The kit includes our new Toma chassis, as well as a new ponywheel from Mosskito. The chassis design has allowed us to make the most of the locomotives disinctive profile, with narrow boiler, large wooden cab and rear water tank. Their is an ornate bell atop of the sand-dome, and oil lamp on the brakect infront of the distinctive balloon spark arrestor. A selection of roundels are included to number your model appropriately for the fleet.
The body kit includes three main components - The smokebox, boiler/frames and cab, and is attached to the chassis in two parts (do not glue the smokebox to the boiler!). As with all other Fourdees locomotive kits, a static chassis and NEM pockets (and couplings) are included.
The first batch of these models will be available at Narrow Gauge NOW on Saturday for £139.99, with remaining stocks going online from Sunday.
