Carriage Kit Updates
It's been another busy week of restocks, with FR Ashbury and Carnforth sets also now back on the shelves of both the website and eBay store. The Ffestiniog Railway fleet is continually evolving, thanks to the amazing and dedicated work of the carriage team at Boston Lodge, but it does present challenges for kits.
Our 'modern' set of Ashbury vehicles 22 and 26 is now an historic set, with 26 having received an all-new body to its original profile, and 22 withdrawn from service for the same treatment. We will not be discontinuing the set as it is, since the 'Barn' profile makes them a good choice for those wanting a larger FR vehicle that is not as long as the main fleet. We will look to produce a set of the 'new new' carriages once they are back in service.
Similarly, Carnforth vehicle 114 has now had its buffet kitchen removed, and is in the process of being converted to a full saloon. However, we shall keep the kitchen form for the kit as it pairs well with 113 (brake/service car) and gives two important utility vehicles that are a good edition to a model fleet.
In other news, our restocks will take a brake this week as we turn the machines over to production of a range of new kits that we intend to launch at Narrow Gauge NOW in two weeks time. It's a tight schedule, and so the usual midweek posts may be absent for the rest of this month, as we get everything read for our final show of the year.
