Echoes of the Glen
Onchan has been one of the trickiest models to get right for the new Sirdar chassis. A change before production meant that our initial design no longer worked as a single piece. As such, this model now has a separate smokebox, which is pushed onto the front once the bodyshell is fitted to the mechanism. It is very snug, such that you need to make sure the chip/blanking plug fits a recess within the smokebox itself.
Since the design was inspired by similar small locomotive from Bagnall, we thought it appropriate to give it standard the standard works lining of red, black and yellow. The green used on our sample here is Tamiya Racing Green. The red along the edge of the frames gives the model an extra pop of colour.
The decal set for Onchan is available now for £5.00 + postage. We have another Bagnall in the works for the Cranmore chassis 'Don', based on an Inverted Saddle Tank designs. This should fit both mechanisms, and we hope to release these later this year.
