Fourdees Showcase
We have another of our Bagnall Saddle Tanks to showcase today, a second from Ted Thompson who has given this 'Frank' kit a quite dramatic makeover. The loco carries a bold black livery, with red lining and detailing, similar to locomotives found on the continent (such as on the Zillertalbahn). It's an eye catching livery, and with the red motion of the static chasssis, it would certainly stand out on a layout.
Ted has added a wealth of extra detailing to really customise the model. This includes removing the smokebox door dart and replacing it with locking pegs. There are also handrails and guard irons to the front footplate and rear cab, along with a continental headlamps and turbo generator.
We do not envy Ted for fitting all these extra details (prefering to let the printers do this work), but it just goes to show that they is still plenty of opportunity to do what some would call 'real' modelling with a 3D print. We can't wait to see what leaves his modelling workbench next...
