Fourdees Showcase

Fourdees Showcase

We have another showcase from the other side of the world today. Roy in Melbourne (Australia) has been kind enough to share photos of his second tram set made up from an Alford and Freelance Tramway Carriage sets. We think he has done a stunning job with the livery application, and the models look really smart in a rich maroon with gold lining.

Roy has saught to create a narrow gauge equivalent of the Whisbech and Upwell inspired machines, with the loco being customised with buffers, chains (for the skirt access doors) and GER decals. The brass number plate is a custom etch from Light Railway Stores. The carriage have also been modified with the clerestory roofs removed, with rain strips and banding to blend in the changes.

Whilst Roy will be more acustomised to temperatures above 30°C, it is very uncomfortable to run the machines at their normal rate. Coupled with trying to have stock on both eBay and the Fourdees shop, you may find some items are out of stock for a little longer than usual. We are hoping for some cooler weather soon, so we can get back on top of this, and to also further expand the selection ...
