Freelance Saddle Tank - Burnett
Burnett completes our trio of models for our new Toma chassis. Again, inspired by similar machines from the Baldwin Locomotive Works, this model features the same boiler and chassis, but has a slightly narrower profile with steel cab and rear bunker. There is a traditional copper-capped chimney with smokebox dart and hand stantions on the front bufferbeam. This loco also feautres oil lamps both front and back.
As with the other kits in this range, the cab is a completely separate piece to make it easier to paint the cab interior. The body is made in two parts, with the chassis first fitted to the boiler/cab assembly, and then the smokebox is pushed onto the front. Screws are included in the kit to lock the body to the chassis.
As with the other models, a limited first batch of these models will be available on Saturday at Narrow Gauge NOW for £139.99. Only single digits have been made of this model. Whilst more chassis are on order, we do not expect them before Christmas.
