Mind your head!
Today, we have a new Bagnall Saddle-Tank to add to our range of kits for the Bachmann Percy Chassis. 'Bealey' is inspired by machines such as Ferret-2, build for the Bealey Tramway near Bury. This industrial line clearly had some very tight clearances, and as such, the locomoitve featured an extremely low profile chimney and cab, with dropped footplate.
Locomotives such as these were common on industrial and mining lines that had to pass under equipment, under low bridges and through tight tunnels. Bealey makes the perfect companion to our Harrogate 'The Peckett' and 'Bilton' models, which share similar low profiles.
The kit comprises the main bodyshell, with separate cab roof, backhead and static chassis. There are also NEM couplings in pockets, and lamps to fit as desired. Due the extremely tight space in the cab, there is no glazing for the spectacles.
The first batch of Bealey models is available now for £29.99 (+ postage). Also available today is a matching set of our Quick Fix Decals, which can be used to represent the standard Bagnall lining shown on the model, priced £5. Note: As per the prototype, this model is intended to fit on a standard percy chassis without modification (and will not work with our Valve Gear kit).
