NGG16 - Deluxe Static Kit
For those of you who dream about owning a 4mm NGG16, but do not have the funds to purchase a working model, our new Deluxe Static Kit may be the next best thing. Designed using the complete suite of original manufacturers drawings, this is the most detailed 4mm scale resin print we have ever produced.
The power bogies include full representation of the motion, accurate flycranks, compensated suspension, full steam pipe plumbing, and bar frames. The boiler cradle includes a wealth of plumbing, components and underframe detailing such as wash-out-plugs, vacuum ejector, manifold, vacuum brake cylinders, safety valves, and injector feeds.
We have seen models that have been designed to fit Farish 08 chassis, but to us, this involves a significant compromise to the appearance of the finished model. Also, like many of you, we do not have the space, time or funds to build a layout appropriate for such a working model to run on. However, we do really like this machines, and think a super-detailed static model can bring joy in the building and enable greater understanding of Beyer Peacock's incredible feats of engineering.
This static model is in ten parts to ease painting and allow appreciation of all the intricate design work that has gone into the real machines and this model:
Front Bogie, Rear Bogie, Front Tank, Rear Bunker, Cradle Frame and Boiler, Cab Interior, Cab Roof, Vacuum Brake Equipment, Fall Plate, Works Plates and Number Plates (No.130, No. 138 and No.143)
Waterslide decals are also included to replicate either yellow-edged or orange-edged black borders. The kit is of a 'typical' FfWHR machine, and is designed so that it can be built to replicate machines No.130, No. 138 and No.143. The first batch of these kits are now, price £89.99 (+postage).
In addition to the complete Beyer Garratt kit, we are also making some components available separately to use as either scenic items or to use in scratch-building a working model. These are:
A Power Bogie (£17.49) - a great scenic item for those modelling the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, with this assemblies often found at Dinas and Boston Lodge when the Garratts are under overhaul.
Crade Frame, Boiler and Cab (£29.99) - can be added to the above power bogies to create a scenic item of an NGG16 awaiting overhaul. Or, perhaps as the basis for a scratchbuilt model.
Cab Interior (£7.49) - can be added to the above, or used as a scratchbuilding itemm for similar large locomotives.
