Seeing double...

We have a new member of our 'Little Tramway' fleet to unveil today, this being a Kerr-Stuart inspired 'Basotho'. No, you're not seeing things, this model is very similar to our exisiting kit 'Natal' but with some important difference. Natal was designed from the outset to fit the Kato 11-109 chassis, and as such, the locomotive required stretching (both the saddle and bunker), which made it lose some of the 'Tattoo' characteristic.

'Basotho' has been designed to fit the Kato 11-108 chassis. This mechanism has a smaller plastic 'shell', and it is relatively flimsy, so everything beyond the core metal chassis can be cut off. This has enabled us to create a dimensionally accurate 'Tattoo' for the first time, matching the proportions of the similar machines 'Stanhope' and 'Edward Thomas'.

Also today we are releasing a new matching decal set of Penrhyn Quarry Railway blue and red, that will fit both 'Basotho' and our 'Stanhope' kit (for the Bachmann Quarry Hunslet chassis).

Basotho is available now for £24.99, whilst the decal sets can be purchased for £5.00.
Our Spring releases are coming thick and fast at the moment, and we have another new cute little model to share with you on Saturday...
