These models all represent prototypes from the Welsh Highand Railway, and its predecessor, the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railways. Beddgelert was an 0-6-4ST built by Hunslet for the NWNGR, effectively later replaced by 2-6-2T Russell. Once the Ffestiniog Railway took over operations on the WHR, Russell was cut-down in an unsuccessful attempt for it to work over both lines. But stock from the FR did find itself on the WHR both pre and post restoration.
