This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old.
This model is based on the locomotives built by Andrew Barclay for the Campbeltown and Machrihanish Light Raiway. This railway was a 6 mile 2'3" gauge line that ran across the Argyll peninsula in Scotland. It was Scotland's only passenger carrying narrow gauge railway. Originally operated by smaller machines from Kerr Stuart and Andrew Barclay, the latter went on to produce two handsome 0-6-2T locomotives that became the stalwarts of traction on the line between 1907 and the lines closure in 1934.
The design has been produced using original drawings from the Andrew Barclay archive. The only notable difference is that the Campbeltown and Machrihanish Light Railway added buffers to the locomotives upon their arrival from Andrew Barclay, but in order for the model to negotiate 12" and 9" curves it has been necessary to omit these from the model.
This ready-to-run model has been hand-built and hand-painted by Dani, and is powered by a Graham Farish 08 chassis. The mechanism has been converted with outside-framed motion, including accurate replacement flycranks. The model is DC only.
The highly detailed bodyshell has been assembled using some of the most advanced additive manufacturing machines in the UK. The finished model includes full representation of all the pipework and control rods present on the prototype, finished with flush glazing and a detailed cab interior.
PECO GR-102 couplings are fitted in NEM pockets, and can be changed for other NEM compatible couplers. Custom etch name and works plates are supplied to fit if desired. The model comes packaged with detailed instructions and a collectors artcard, giving details of the model and the prototype.

These models are hand-built and hand-painted kit assemblies, not to be directly compared with mass-produced models maufactured overseas. They feature incredibly high levels of detail, but are fragile, so additional care should be taken with instructions followed carefully.
If the model develops a fault inside the first three months, contact us to discuss the issue so we can try to repair the item. These are the final models left, so there may not be any replacements available.
