This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old.
Bagnalls of Stafford produced many small industrial locomotives, the mainstay of their narrow gauge range being their 0-4-0ST design which formed the basis for both large and small machines. We have taken inspiration from six prototypes to create a fleet of locomotives, that whilst not exactly to scale, are proportioned appropriately for the donor mechanism and capture the character of these much loved machines.
BASIL is inspired by 'Sybil', built for the Dinorwic quarries. Now at the West Lancashire Railway.
This is the MKII version of this kit. The appearance differs slightly from the photographs, with the static chassis including representation of valve gear. The body is also designed so that the steamchests can be snapped off, allowing it to be fitted to Bachmann Percy chassis with valve-grear upgrades.
This is a beginner's kit, and comprises a single large body shell, with separate cab roof, boiler backhead and a selection of detailing components with which to personalise the model.
