This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old.

This model kit is inspired by the much-loved prototypes of the Corris railway, featuring two glazed-end saloons, access on one side, and full length footboard and railing for the guards. The original Corris Railway bogie fleet was a mix of purpose-built and rebuilt 4-wheel carriages, with little in the way of standardisation. The design of this vehicle is inspired by the later carriages built the Metropolitan Carriage and Wagon works, as running on the Corris Railway.

One of these carriages survives on the Talyllyn Railway (No. 17), but its present form is considerably different to this kit, riding much higher on its bogies since a completely new underframe was built in the 1960’s.

The vari-kit element comes in the form of:

2 buffer options (Corris dumb-buffers or Talyllyn standard pattern)
Optional roof Torpedo Vents
Optional Carriage End Vents
Optional Vacuum Brake connections
Internal seating to make either a FULL THIRD or a FIRST-THIRD COMPOSITE

The kit includes custom Quick Fix decals. These are commercial transfers, and so there may be small alignment issues given the lines are only 0.15mm thick. These decals also allow the two carriages to be lined out as:

2x FULL THIRD
2x FIRST-THIRD COMPOSITE
1x FULL THIRD + 1x FIRST-THIRD COMPOSITE
1x FULL THIRD + 1x FULL FIRST

This set includes two Standard Saloons.

This is a highly detailed 4mm scale kit built using our in house machines, with High Definition resin and build layers just 50 microns (0.05mm) thick. Whilst there is 'stepping' visible on the parts up close, this is not discernible once the kit is painted and/or from usual viewing distances.

The parts have their main supports removed, though detailing and structural supports will remain to protect the parts in transit, and require removing prior to assembly. Some polishing and filing of the parts is required to provide a smooth finish.

Detailed resin bogies and PECO plastic wheelsets are included with the model. The bogies include NEM pockets with which accept the included resin OO9 couplings. For glazed vehicles, a clear perspex sheet is provided that can be cut to size before fitting.

You will need modelling tools (such as a craft knife, cutting board, files and micro-drills), adhesive and paints to assemble and finish the kit.

Keep resin parts out of direct sunlight. Detailing and structural supports remain in order to protect the parts in transit, and should be removed before painting.

Parts will benefit from a wash in cool soapy water before painting, but do not leave them to soak. Alternative, Isopropyl alcohol is also a good cleaning solution if parts feel overly sticky.

If any components appear bent or warped, heat them gently with a hairdryer or in warm water (do not soak), and then hold parts whilst they cool.

If modifying the parts in any way (either by cutting, filing, sanding or drilling) be sure to wear appropriate protective clothing such as gloves and masks.
