This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old.
This model is inspired by the two 2-6-4T locomotives built to operate the Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway in North Staffordshire. This 8 mile line was built to 2'6" gauge under the design of Everard Calthrop. It ran from Waterhouses to Hulme End along the Hamps and Manifold Valleys and was built with many colonial features uncommon to other U.K. narrow gauge railways (such as standard gauge transporter wagons). It served as a template for the larger Barsi Light Railway in India. The line was a commercial failure, and closed in its entirety in 1935.
The motive power was supplied by two large and handsome 2-6-4T locomotives 'E.R. Calthrop' and 'J.B. Earle', and this model has been designed used original drawings to help capture their unmistakable character.
This ready-to-run model has been hand-built and hand-painted by Dani, and is powered by a Graham Farish 08 chassis. The mechanism has been converted with outside-framed motion, including accurate replacement flycranks. The model is DC only.
The highly detailed bodyshell has been assembled using some of the most advanced additive manufacturing machines in the UK. The finished model includes full representation of all the pipework and control rods present on the prototype, finished with flush glazing and a detailed cab interior.
PECO GR-102 couplings are fitted in NEM pockets, and can be changed for other NEM compatible couplers. Custom etch name and works plates are supplied to fit if desired. The model comes packaged with detailed instructions and a collectors artcard, giving details of the model and the prototype.

Damages and replacements
These models are hand-built and hand-painted kit assemblies, not to be directly compared with mass-produced models maufactured overseas. They feature incredibly high levels of detail, but are fragile, so additional care should be taken with instructions followed carefully.
If the model develops a fault inside the first three months, contact us to discuss the issue so we can try to repair the item. These are the final models left, so there may not be any replacements available.
