FR Centenary Carriages 100 and 124

This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old.

This model kit is of carriages 100 and 124, as running on the Ffestiniog Railway prior in 2020. These carriages are part of the Centenary Stock series of vehicles, also known as 'The Barns'. Since the railway no longer traverses the old Moelwyn Tunnel, vehicles can be built to a slightly larger loading gauge. These were modern vehicles, and took design cues from Lynton and Barnstable Carriage 14, that had been modified to work the railway.

Carriage 100 is a first class obs, built in the style of the original 100/101 vehicles, but with only two end windows. There is no guards compartment for increased capacity, with 12 Pullman-style chairs and 8 low-back observation chairs.

124 is a Service Car, built for the modern FR and WHR running method. This vehicle has no passenger seating, but all other necessary train facilities including a kitchen, toilet and guards compartment.

There is also a raft of detailing brake and electrical connections specific to these vehicles. The gangway fallplates can positioned either up or down, with the latter requiring the use of the provided 'Gangway Couplings'.

Also included with these vehicles are separately fitted first class seat (both Pullman and observation chairs).
