This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old.
This model kit is of a freelance steam locomotive, inspired by similar locomotives built by Peckett & Sons. St George is loosely inspired by the 0-4-2T 'Karen' built for the Selukwe Peak Light Railway (now at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway). Though it uses the same 0-6-0T chassis as Atlas, the body, tank and cab profile is clearly reminiscent of the Selukwe locomotive.
The model includes all parts required to assemble working outside-framed motion, including accurate replacement flycranks.
This kit has been printed in new HD resin, which is darker in finish to the parts shown in the photographs.
This is an intermediate kit. The body is in a single piece, with roof and cab interior to fit. The Graham Farish 08 chassis requires some modification to complete, in this case replacing the frames and all the motion and flycranks. There is no valve gear, and the only delicate component is the crosshead and coupling-rod assembly.
