This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old.
Bagnalls of Stafford produced many small industrial locomotives, the mainstay of their narrow gauge range being their 0-4-0ST design which formed the basis for both large and small machines. We have taken inspiration from six prototypes to create a fleet of locomotives, that whilst not exactly to scale, are proportioned appropriately for the donor mechanism and capture the character of these much loved machines.
TRIESTE is losely inspired by Bagnall No.2841 ordered by the Ministy of Supply and sent to the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration in Yugoslavia, 1946. The locomotive was similar to other saddle-tanks, but had a partial cab front and saddle that extended over the smokebox.
The body is designed so that the steamchests can be snapped off, allowing it to be fitted to Bachmann Percy chassis with valve-grear upgrades.
This is a beginner's kit, and comprises a single large body shell, with separate cab roof, boiler backhead and a selection of detailing components with which to personalise the model.
