This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old.
This model is inspired by the diesel locomotive "No.10" on the Vale of Railway. This railway is operated by a fleet of 3 steam locomotives, built in 1923 by the Great Western Railway. In 1987, the railway was privatised and owned by the same company that ran the Brecon Mountain Railway. In order to supplemented the steam fleet, a diesel locomotive, Number 10, was built using parts from Baguley-Drewry. This machine is not as powerful as the steam locomotives, and is primarily used for shunting, works trains and light operations.
This ready-to-run model has been hand-built and hand-painted by Dani, and is powered by a Graham Farish 08 chassis. The mechanism has been converted with custom etch motion parts and working representation of a jack-shaft drive. The model is DC only.
The highly detailed bodyshell has been assembled using some of the most advanced additive manufacturing machines in the UK. The design work has involved extensive research, including drawings from the Vale of Rheidol Railway's collection. The finished model includes full representation of all the pipework and control rods present on the prototype, finished with flush glazing and a detailed cab interior.
PECO GR-102 couplings are fitted in NEM pockets, and can be changed for other NEM compatible couplers. Custom etch name and works plates are supplied to fit if desired. The model comes packaged with detailed instructions and a collectors artcard, giving details of the model and the prototype.
